CALCULUS
COURSE OVERVIEW
This is a creditable micro-credential representing an intensive course that is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills covered by a university first course in calculus. The course is delivered over one month with a total of 122 notional hours distributed between asynchronous classes, in-person tutorials, online assignments, and physical final examination. Then students who successfully complete the course will be eligible to a credit transfer.
KEY TOPICS COVERED
This is a mathematics course, so it is expected to expose students to many problems to master the fundamental concepts of calculus such as continuity, limits, differentiation and integration. Towards this goal, students need to do several assessments and solve many mathematical problems. Specifically, students need to do online homework after each unit and set for one midterm besides the final examination which will be taken by the end of the course.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience is undergraduate students, particularly students from both College of Information Technology and College of Engineering.
The participants should have the following skills:
- High School Mathematical Concepts
- Intermediate Level of English
The course will be delivered over two days per week, so that lectures and tutorials will be delivered online, while practical sessions will be delivered physically.
